I think politicians cannot be trusted, the term limits thing is a big deal, the longer someone spends in Washington, the the further they distance themselves from the people.
People like Ted Kennedy (almost 45 years in the Senate) and Robert Byrd from W. Virginia (almost 50 years in Congress!) need to give it a rest.

I lean to the right on many issues, but I'm left on some social things.

Big government is bad, thats what the Democrats want...such as Hillary Clinton who is an obvious Socialist who wants income redistribution.
Although I don't have a problem with a woman being President, I fear that she may be a future President.

The will of America to succeed comes from the rewards that come with hard work. If you take away those rewards (high income, high profits), that destroys peoples motivation to succeed. If someone knows that they don't have to put effort into something, and they'll still get rewarded, then they are obviously not going to put effort in.

This is what scares me about Nancy Pelosi...San Francisco just initiated a mandatory 9 paid sick days a year for everyone who works in SF.
This is going to destroy small-business there, as well as increase the cost of doing business all around.

I just wish there was a way to get politicians, who are everyday people, into positions for a term or two, people who genuinely care about the welfare of the country, not people whose emotions drive their policy.
Something like jury duty

The two party system also depresses me...Americans are not so polar, and the way politicians are elected, it's nearly impossible for a third party to gain any significant ground anywhere, nevermind fourth or fifth.

After Lex and Terry, I listen to Neal Boortz.
Neal is the fucking man.

I encourage everyone give him a try.
Not only is he hilarious, but he backs up everything he says.
He isn't some right-winger that tows the party line like Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity, or some far-right goofball like Michael Savage.

He's a Conservative Libertarian, if that helps any of you.
Check out his page on Wikipedia for some good info.

I love Neal, I listen to him regularly. He's so very funny. I don't always
agree with anyone, him included, but I love to hear his take on things.
I don't need to agree with people to enjoy their ideas and perceptions.
He loves his Mooney, doesn't he? In Gainesville, they split his show, most
in morn, last hour at 6. Weird, but it works for my schedule.

CG, there is a new talk station in Lake City, 96.5, that carries the Information Overload Hour at noon. That is the portion that normally plays on 97.3 at 6:00.

I can't stand 97.3 in the afternoons. Those two jackasses they have on the radio are the most annoying and shrill voices I have ever heard.

They are THE WORST, EVER!!! PC and Dip Sh*t, oh I hate them.
They are so lame, they're attempts at humour are the worst of the worst.
They can't speak intelligently about anything, to be true. Cheap local
hacks. Way to save a buck, SKY radio.

I love Jamie Dupree's updates from DC. He is a must listen to, for me.
Hmmm, I wonder if I can get 96.5 here. Since we've moved into our new
home, I've not been able to get a few channels as before. But when I'm in Gainesville, and at my offices, I pick them up. Crummy radio of mine.

Do you enjoy Handel on the Law?, Clark Howard? I surely do !!! 8)

Usually, I listen to Neal and Clark. Other than that, I listen to music. I try to listen to songs I am learning or recordings of other musicians to learn their style.

With North Korea being such a big threat

I don't think they are a threat as opposed to what China could be...and as usual they folded...I'm sure more food and a couple of US built power plants will be headed their way...

I know there was plenty of concern not too long ago. Was it about this
time last year, Kim Jong-il , making everyone sit up and take notice? He's
an evil guy, is he on our to do list?

Yes...and he'll do it again when he wants something...someone brought this up in the earlier part of this thread and holds true...all we have to do is give China the nod and they would be more than happy to add North Korea to the Chinese Empire...

I saw in the news today, how topical, eh?, that
"North Korea agrees to nuclear freeze in return for foreign aid", as the
headline (same news source as Kim's  ), so glad to hear things
are moving in more positive direction. Wasn't it about this time last year
we had concerns due to testing of nuclear bomb(s)? Of course, the other
headline was saying, Bush couldn't care less about opposition from any-
one regarding the deals made. Of course, . . . he's, "The Decider" 8)
